[3/4] Roger Baddour (Egy) 3-0 Omar Ibrahim Elmahdy (Egy)    11-8, 11-6, 11-7

Abdelrahman Amr Nassar (Egy) 3-0 [2] Mohamed Abdullah Al Mawled (Ksa)  11-3, 11-8, 11-7

Looking at the score, you might think mmm, that was easy and one sided… Well, the atmosphere today was very warm – maybe not for the ultra favourite Omar El Torkey who won his match 2, 2, 4 to be honest… As Omar said in his little aftermatch video, “it was not that hard today”…. He now plays Roger Badour, who beat Omar Ibrahim Elmahdy 8, 6, 7.

Unlucky for Mohamed Assem Mohamed today, as he injured himself and couldn’t finish the match, retiring down 2/0, 4, 4. His opponent, Taha Walid Dinana will play the Egyptian Abdelraham Amr Nassar, who took out favourite from Saudi Mohamed Abdullah Al Mawled – despite a camp of young and loud supporters from Saudi that I think came to train with Amir Wagih a few days ago. Shame they didn’t join the fun here though! A great match, plenty of suspense, action, good quality squash and a warm crowd to make it perfect…
