G13 [1] Lauren Baltayan (Fra) 3-0 [2] Farah Hossam (Egy) 11-8, 11-8, 12-10
For that one, I have only one thing to say: LET. YOUR. PLAYER. PLAY!!!! Jzzzzz, that poor Farah… she was trying her best out there, and every single point, I kid you not, EVERY SINGLE SHOT, her coach would call “Farah, Farah” and explain with plenty of gesture how the poor girl should play…. How on EARTH is she supposed to construct anything, be focused and relaxed, when the buzzing is incessant… Moving on.
A solid, very solid from the French girl Lauren Baltayan playing at BlackBall today again, who didn’t lose a single game all the way to the title. Today was not an easy one though and she had to apply relentless pressure on Farah to make her make errors.
After taking the first game 11/8 in 9m to Lauren, a close start, 2/2, 4/2, 5/3 Lauren but 5/5, 6/6. Two crucial errors and it gives the French girl the boost she needs, 9/6, 11/8 in 8m.
The third sees a good start from Farah, 2/0, but it’s soon Lauren in control, 6/4, 85, 9/6. Some superb backhand drop shots coming from Farah’s racquet, an error from the French and we are back at 9/9. Farah’s got a game ball, 10/9, but a very intense Lauren will score the next 3 points, 12/10.
