Boys seed decimated !
Incredible upsets today in the U11 boys as only “GoldenHands” Marawan Assal, #2, survived the quarters, reaching the semis 3/0 with a close 3/0 win against Serif Farouk, 7, 8, 9. He will face a surprise [5/8] Adham Wael Abdelazim, who went up 2/0 14/12, 11/8 against [3/4] Malek Sherif Khalil, to then lose the next two, 10/12, 8/11, finally clinching the 5th 11/6! Pfew, I’m sure the two families on both side have now a few more grey hair poor people…
On the other side of the draw, the biggest scalp, top seed Yassine Kouritam, going down 12/10 in the 4th against [5/8] Ali Ahmed Rahma, after managing to claw back 11/6 down 2/0. But too little too late, and it’s Ali that will play another suprise semi-finalist, Adam Hawal, who down Russian Omar Elkeiy (son of Coach Mohamed Elkeiy, from Alexandria), 3/1.
GIRLS
As ever, intense, emotional and the parents/coaches involved as if every shot was a World Champs match ball!
Two very contrasting top seeds journeys to the semis. It took minutes for Maya Mandour to overcome 5/8 Mariam Fady, for the lost of 5 points. Not as comfortable for the other side of the draw’s girl, Aysel Ahmed, who took the match in 3 but very intense, 11/9, 11/6, 12/10.
The two other matches went according to seedings, 3/4, in three games, Kenzy Mohamed Abostate, 11/3, 11/8, 11/7 against USA Khadija Elhaddad, and Yara Ramy Mohamed 7, 7, 3 against Nour Mahmoud Samy.
